18 Oct 2021

Five final-year UQ Ochsner medical students have been selected as the recipients of the Ochsner Health 2022 Postdoctoral Research Fellowships.

The students will return to Ochsner Health between January 3 to May 27, 2022 as medical graduates, to engaged in translational, clinical, and health services research while they await the start of their residency program.

Dr. Leonardo Seoane, MD, Chief Academic Officer, Ochsner Health said as our medical program graduate students in November every year, there is a six-month gap between graduation and them starting their residency programs.

“This period has given us the opportunity to introduce our competitive Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program,” Dr. Seoane said.

The five research fellows will work with their mentor and leading clinicians and clinician-scientists in nephrology, maternal-fetal medicine, surgery, neurology, and pain management.
