For almost 15 years, The University of Queensland and Ochsner Health have worked together to train future physician leaders. We have developed a unique pathway which, enables students to train across two continents, leveraging the resources of two world class institutions.

Entry requirements

  • MCAT 504, GPA B average, two-course prerequisites and an interview.
  • We've developed four online short courses to aid assessed applicants who don't meet the subject prerequisites. 
  • Available for US citizens and US permanent residents.
  • Letter of recommendation, personal statement, experience, or resume is not required.
  • Applications are now open for a February 2026 start.
  • No application fee.

Years 1 and 2

Years 1 and 2 of the program is completed in Brisbane, Australia. In Year 1, you will learn from experts in biomedical sciences, public health and social sciences, and clinical leaders. During Year 2, you will continue to develop your clinical and professional skills through clinical coaching, case-based learning and longitudinal clinical placements in the community and hospital.

Years 3 and 4

Hands-on clinical practice takes place at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana, in years 3 and 4. During these two year you will rotate through a range of immersive clinical experiences in hospital and community settings, providing you with opportunities to develop as a well-rounded graduate as you prepare to progress into residency training.
