This week on White Coat Wednesday, we meet Liam Kavanagh, a fourth-year UQ-Ochsner medical student.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he completed an undergraduate degree at Cornell University and took a gap year before starting the UQ-Ochsner medical program, working for Doctors without borders.
Hosted by fellow fourth-year student Priya Puri, we find out what attracted Liam to studying medicine in Australia and how the clinical training prepares you for the rest of your studies.
Liam shares the great opportunities that come from joining the Surgery Interest Group, including suturing workshops and the excellent alumni network. He shares what led him to surgery and even his favourite restaurant in New Orleans!
